WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town of West Hartford is implementing a mask requirement for all municipal buildings, effective Wednesday.
Employees and visitors will be required to wear a mask upon entering municipals buildings and in public areas within the building including hallways, restrooms and meeting rooms, officials said.
Greeters will be present to offer a mask to visitors if they arrive without one. Exceptions will be made for people with health issues that prevent them from wearing a mask, officials said.
"We are taking this action due to the increase in positive cases of Covid-19," officials said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "Hartford County has now reached levels of substantial community transmission. We believe that the mask requirement is consistent with the guidelines issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the CDC."
