Massage Therapist Charged With Sexually Assaulting Client: Police

A woman told police she was touched inappropriately during a massage at a business in West Hartford.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford man is accused of inappropriately touching a woman while giving her a massage at a business in West Hartford. Chiwanda Johnson, 41, turned himself in to West Hartford Police on March 23 in connection to an incident that occurred at “A Matter of Touch” in January, according to police.

Police say the victim went to "A Matter of Touch," located at 920 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford, for a massage on Jan. 23. The victim told police that she was touched inappropriately during the massage by Johnson, who was the masseur. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Johnson after probable cause was developed through an investigation, according to Lt. Michael Perruccio.

Johnson was arrested on a charge of fourth-degree sexual assault. He was released on a $50,000 bond and is due in court on April 5.
