Officials asked residents to bring only sensitive documents and to separate junk mail and other non-sensitive paper before arriving.

Organizers are also encouraging attendees to donate non-perishable food items for the West Hartford Food Pantry.

The town said the effort is part of a statewide “Fill-A-Public Works Truck” campaign involving 34 Connecticut communities collecting food and household goods for local food banks.
