Middle School Principal in West Hartford Running in Marathon to Buy Students New Desks

Tara Bellefleur, 60, looking for sponsors to help raise $18,000 to cover costs of new desks at Saint Timothy Middle School.

The principal of Saint Timothy Middle School in West Hartford is running in the Hartford Half Marathon next month in an effort to raise money to buy her students new desks, according to NBC Connecticut.

Principal Tara Bellefleur told NBC that some of the desks are more than 50 years old and need to be replaced and she’s hoping to find sponsors to help her raise $18,000 to cover the costs.

Bellefleur, who just turned 60, told NBC she knows that running the race won’t be easy but she wants to inspire her students.
