UPDATE: More Than 15,500 Connecticut Residents Without Power
A series of severe thunderstorms knocked out power to tens of thousands of residents Tuesday afternoon and evening.

As of 11 a.m. 15,500 Connecticut residents are still without power.
Here is the 9 a.m. updated list, which now includes about 17,500 power outages still in Connecticut.

12:30 a.m. Wednesday: A total of 35,000 Connecticut residents are still without power as a new day begins. We’ll keep updating this story in the morning, and post a full updated town-by-town list. At one point on Tuesday evening 55,000 residents were without power.
10:30 p.m. Update: Some good news as the number of outages has declined by about 8,000 in the past 90 minutes. There are now 38,735 Eversource customers without power and 3,000 United Illuminating Co. customers still without power.
9 p.m. Update: A total of 45,586 Eversource customers are without power and 3,000 United Illuminating Co. customers are without power.
