NEW & EXPANDING AT WESTFARMS: NORTH FACE AND LUCKY BRAND JEANS JOIN LUXURY LINE UP

From luxury and athletic wear to All-American and products that pamper, several top brands make their market debut at Westfarms this season. North Face, Lucky Brand Jeans, Vans and DAVIDsTEA all open their first stores in the region, while several other retailers will remodel and/or relocate at the region’s premier shopping destination.

New-to-market stores openings:

Making its Connecticut entrance at Westfarms later this summer is North Face, the global brand for sports enthusiasts. The North Face, a division of VF Outdoor, Inc., was founded in 1968. Headquartered in San Leandro, California, the company offers the most technically advanced products in the market to accomplished climbers, mountaineers, snow sport athletes, endurance athletes, and explorers. The company’s products are sold in specialty mountaineering, backpacking, running, and snow sport retailers, premium-sporting goods retailers and major outdoor specialty retail chains. The store will be located on Westfarms’ upper level, near Nordstrom.

Lucky Brand Jeans, the authentic, All-American jeans company, opened its first Hartford-market store last week. The Lucky Brand began crafting great-fitting, vintage-inspired jeans in Los Angeles in 1990, quickly earning the title of “America’s favorite.” The brand also produces apparel, shoes, accessories and jewelry for men and women that are sold in more than 200 retail stores within the U.S., high-end department and specialty stores, select stores in Canada, and online at LuckyBrand.com. The store is located on Westfarms’ upper level, near Nordstrom.

Vans®, the original action sports footwear and apparel company, a brand of VF Corporation (NYSE: VFC), debuted its first store in central Connecticut at Westfarms. Vans collections include authentic footwear, apparel and accessories, snowboard boots and the Pro-tec line of protective gear and are sold in the United States through more than 250 company owned stores as well as independent retailers. Internationally, Vans sells its goods in approximately 70 countries through a network of subsidiaries, distributors and foreign offices. Headquartered in Cypress, California, Vans employs more than 350 at its corporate office and distribution center. Vans is located on the lower level, JCPenney wing.

Luxury brand DAVIDsTEA has made its Hartford market debut at Westfarms. Since its first shop opened in 2008 on Toronto’s Queen Street, DAVIDsTEA has developed an enthusiastic following. Today DAVIDsTEA has 115 stores across Canada and 21 in the US, with NBC’s Today Show Great tea, friendly stores and above-and-beyond customer service. With colorful, modern packaging, sleek in-house designed tea accessories and friendly, welcoming attitude, DAVIDsTEA offers a tea experience that is fun, fresh and unintimidating. The store is located on Westfarms’ lower level, near JCPenney.

“We’re excited to be the first area location for so many great brands,” says General Manager Kevin Keenan, “and delighted that our existing retailers are growing and relocating here at Westfarms.”

Existing Westfarms retailers expanding and relocating:

Johnston & Murphy, the premium footwear and accessories brand for men and women, has recently relocated to the upper level, near Nordstrom. The new store showcases an expanded selection of footwear and a full woman’s clothing line.

Fans of the popular Victoria’s Secret will revel in the new store that is undergoing a remodel. The retailer has temporarily relocated to a new location in the lower level of the Nordstrom wing. The new, remodeled store will open late summer in its original space on the upper level.

Westfarms, the premier shopping center of central Connecticut, features anchor stores Nordstrom, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and JCPenney. The shopping center offers 160 stylish retailers and restaurants, many unique to the trade area, including Anthropologie, Apple, The Art of Shaving, Athleta, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Brio Tuscan Grille, California Pizza Kitchen, Coach, Free People, J.Crew, Kiehl’s Since 1851, LEGO, Louis Vuitton, LUSH, Michael Kors, Microsoft, P.F.
