Northwest Catholic Announces Head Girls Soccer Coach

Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford is pleased to announce the appointment of Tori Sousa as their new Head Girls Soccer Coach.

Sousa has most recently been working as University of New Haven’s Women’s Soccer Graduate Assistant and as a soccer coach for Farmington Sports Arena (FSA). Before joining the staff at the University of New Haven, Sousa was the Women’s Assistant Coach at the University of Saint Joseph. After playing soccer as an undergraduate for Division I Central Connecticut State University, where she was named Athlete of the Year, All-Conference, All-Region, and Team Captain, Sousa played professional soccer in Forfar, Scotland.

This spring Sousa will graduate with a Master’s in Science of Biomedical, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering from the University of New Haven. This summer she will begin as Northwest Catholic’s Head Coach for its winning girls soccer program.

On March 28, Sousa met her next team. The girls gathered for the announcement they’d been waiting for. Sousa told the girls how excited she was to be joining the program. She shared a bit about her soccer career, then turned the spotlight on them. Sousa wanted to begin getting to know her team right away, and she started in on introductions and positions.

President & Head of School Christian Cashman had this to say about Coach Sousa: “Coach Sousa is enthusiastic, has a depth of knowledge and experience to maintain the history of girls soccer excellence at NWC and build the program on its vital foundations.” He continued, “Tori will be a strong role model for our girls soccer team and will no doubt embrace the mission of Northwest Catholic to form the whole person in mind, body, spirit, and imagination. We are thrilled to welcome her.”
