Northwest Catholic Welcomes New Interim President

Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford welcomes Fr. Michael Dolan as its new Interim President.

Fr. Michael Dolan will take over for Interim President Mrs. Maria Maynard, who is retiring after more than 40 years of dedicated service to the Archdiocese of Hartford. Fr. Michael Whyte, Vicar for Education, Evangelization and Catechesis, had this to say in honor of Mrs. Maynard: “The Archdiocese thanks Maria Maynard for her dedicated service, and we wish her peace, blessings and a well-deserved retirement with family and friends.”

Fr. Dolan served as pastor in several Connecticut parishes, most recently at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Hamden. He has also served as director of seminarians for the Archdiocese of Hartford and as campus minister at Trinity College and the University of Hartford. He brings to Northwest Catholic his expertise in parish management and community building as well as his great enthusiasm for Catholic education.

Fr. Dolan expressed his gratitude for his new post: “I am thankful to Archbishop Blair for this assignment, and I am excited about this opportunity to serve Northwest Catholic and its community as its president.” Fr. Dolan continued, “This amazing Catholic school, which has been built upon the hard work and dedication of many generations of Catholic people—founders, clergy, teachers, staff, students and parents—since her doors opened in 1961, has an amazing history and an even more fantastic future.”

Northwest Catholic is excited to welcome Fr. Michael Dolan to their very special community. Upon learning of Fr. Dolan’s appointment, Northwest Catholic Principal Christopher Stuck said, “We have achieved many great things at Northwest already this school year, and with Fr. Dolan’s energy, excitement, and passion for Catholic education, I am confident we have a strong and bright future ahead.”
