Nursing Home In West Hartford Among 5 Fined By State
The nursing home was fined following an incident on Christmas Eve of 2018.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford nursing home was among five recently fined by the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) for errors that endangered or injured residents, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team (C-HIT).
The Hebrew Center for Health and Rehabilitation at 1 Abrahms Boulevard in West Hartford was fined $1,320 after a late Dec. 2018 incident in which a resident was sent on a leave of absence with another resident’s medications, C-HIT reported.
The resident was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and treated with IV fluids at a hospital on Dec. 24, 2018. An investigation revealed the person had been sent home three days earlier with not only the resident’s medications, but several others intended for another resident, DPH said.
