Obituary: Barbara M. White, 87, of West Hartford

Barbara M. White, 87, of West Hartford, died Nov. 20, 2017 at St. Mary Home, in West Hartford. Born in Hartford to Francis and Bertha White.

Barbara was an educator in Bridgeport. She was an elegant, soft-spoken woman, who valued learning, family and friends.

She is survived by her sisters Margaret W. Sizemore of Enfield, and Jean Murphy of Southbridge, MA, along with many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Barbara was predeceased by, her brother; Francis Jr., and sisters, Patricia Sheridan, Lois Overstrom, and Gladys Sandvig, as well as her nephews; Thomas and Michael Sheridan. She will be missed.

Funeral services will be Tuesday (11/28) at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Ave. West Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sisters of Mercy, 15 Highland View Rd. Cumberland, RI 02864, or The Mercy Community at St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Ave. West Hartford, CT.
