Obituary: Carl Maurice Stevens, 82, of West Hartford

Carl Maurice Stevens, 82, of West Hartford, husband of the late Caroline M. (Reynolds) Stevens, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Newport, VT, the son of the late Fred and Pearl (Reynolds) Stevens, he graduated Newport High School, Class of 1952.

After serving with the U.S. Navy, Carl went to Vaughn Barber School in Hartford. He worked with his brother Moe at City Barber Shop in Newport, VT before relocating to the Hartford area where he established himself and opened Steven’s Hair Design for Men in West Hartford and Farmington. Carl and Caroline married in 1962 and enjoyed nearly 40 years together before her passing in 2002. Carl enjoyed, travel with Caroline, poker with friends, trips to the casino, and crossword puzzles. In addition to Caroline, he was predeceased by his seven brothers and one sister. Carl leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
