Anibal R. Barreto of West Hartford Connecticut died Sunday April 15, 2018. Born in Caacupe Paraguay of October 18, 1937 to Albino Barreto and Concepcion Fatecha Barreto, he was a retired pediatrician and child psychiatrist for the Brentwood area of Long Island, New York.

He was a lover of classical music, philosophy and wine. He married Maria Barreto Benitez, his high school sweetheart, on October 10, 1956. He effected the lives of many people through philanthropy, loving guidance and a dedication to medicine and the bettering of the lives of those surrounding him. He strived to live a life of purpose and proved that through his many accomplishments and people who loved and cherished him.
He is survived by his wife, Maria T Barreto, his two daughters, Elisa Piece and Sylvia Barreto Monge, his son, Raul Barreto, his two sons in law, Steven Pierce and Esteban Monge, his daughter in law Catherine Lee Barreto and 8 grandchildren; Joshua Piece, Jacob Pierce, Samantha Pierce, Aleph Monge, Malkuth Monge, Sebastian Barreto, Samuel Barreto, and Victoria Barreto. He is also survived by his two sibling Geronimo Barreto and Sofia Barreto and their children, Gustavo Barreto, Viviana Barreto, Ricardo Barreto, Sofia Volpe and Jorge Volpe, who all saw him as a father figure and protector. He leaves behind many friends and extended family who cherished him as a loving and caring friend and an attentive relative.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday April 18th 4-7pm at Molloy Funeral Home in West Hartford Connecticut.
