Obituary: Frances M. ‘Francene’ Ducharme, 78, of West Hartford
Francene worked part-time at the Faxon Branch Library in Elmwood where she also volunteered with many of the children's functions.

Frances M. “Francene” Ducharme, 78, of West Hartford, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at home. Born in Coaticook, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Rolland and Germaine Ducharme. Francene came to the U.S. with her family and graduated from Hartford High School, Class of 1959, before pursuing a career with Aetna Insurance Company.
In retirement, Francene worked part-time at the Faxon Branch Library in Elmwood where she also volunteered with many of the children’s functions. She was an active member of Church of St. Mark the Evangelist and often participated in fundraising walks for charity organizations. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Claudette Crane. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Essie Ducharme and their son Gerald F. Ducharme of Granby; her cousin, who she was especially close, Laurette Mathieu and her family of Windsor Locks; nieces and nephews in Florida; family in Canada; and extended family in New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Easter Seals, Wounded Warriors, or St. Mark the Evangelist.
