Obituary: Lucio Lefante, 47, of West Hartford

Lucio was active in his children's lives, coaching soccer, T-ball, and lacrosse, and faithfully attending swim meets and musical pursuits.

Lucio Lefante, 47, of West Hartford, husband of Jane Logie Lefante died October 3, 2016 with Masonicare Hospice at the Hospital at Hebrew Healthcare. Lucio was born in West Hartford to Gaetano and the late Leonilde Lefante. He grew up in West Hartford, and graduated Conard High School, going on to Western New England College, a MBA from UCONN, and his CPA designation as well.

He worked in insurance, retiring as VP Personal Lines for QBE of the Americas. Luch was active in his children’s lives, coaching soccer, T-ball, and lacrosse, and faithfully attending swim meets and musical pursuits. He was a lifelong lacrosse player and drummer making many friends who stayed with him throughout his life. He was also proud of being a founding member of the Old School Running Club, and was passionate about hiking and trail running with the “fellas.”

Lucio was a parishioner of St. Mark the Evangelist and his faith helped center and guide him.

Luch is survived by his children, Isabella, Samuel, Sophia, and Tessa, his brother; Vincenzo and his wife Linda Lefante, his sister; Francesca and her husband Chris Knerr. His extended family; a beloved sister-in-law Jill Nelson, APRN who dedicated herself to helping him on this difficult journey and her husband David Nelson, Andrew and Elizabeth Logie, and Susan Logie who embraced him as a son long ago, William Logie, Andrew and Sarah Logie, and Scott and Glenda Logie.

Also surviving him are his nieces and nephews; Matthew, Michael and Scott Nelson, Anna and Alessandra Lefante, Nicholas, Ian, and Margaret Logie, Hannah Logie and Luke Djurovic, Andrew and Harrison Logie, and Margot Knerr, and his faithful dog Truman.

Calling Hours will be Sunday (10/9) from 1-5 p.m. at Holy Family Retreat Center, 303 Tunxis Rd. West Hartford (please enter main doors). A memorial service will be held Monday (10/10), at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Retreat Center Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
