Obituary: Melissa Joy Molin, 21, of West Hartford

Melissa Joy Molin, 21, of West Hartford, beloved daughter of Allen and Laura (Willenbrock) Molin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 4, 2016, as the result of an automobile accident in Sutton, NH.

Born in Hartford, she was raised in West Hartford and graduated from Hall High School, Class of 2012, where she played soccer.

Melissa also loved the summers she spent with her extended lake family. Melissa was a senior at Colby-Sawyer College, in New London, NH, currently serving her internship as a Behavioral Therapist at Ready, Set, Connect. She had a gift working alongside of children with special needs and looked forward to receiving her BS in Psychology in order to help these children.

Melissa was a loyal teammate who competed on the college swim team. She was a beautiful, bubbly, red head who would light up any room she entered. She had a magnetic personality and enjoyed being a friend to anyone she met. She enjoyed her summer work at Victoria's Secret at West Farm's Mall, and always cherished time babysitting her "kids."

In addition to her parents, Allen and Laura, she leaves her sister Rebecca Lynn Molin of West Hartford; grandmothers Susan Molin of West Hartford and Joyce Willenbrock of Somerville, NJ; uncles, aunts and cousins, Peter and Cindy Molin and his daughter Samantha, of South Windsor; Roger Willenbrock and his sons Roger, Jr. and Eric, of Goodletsville, TN and David and Patricia Willenbrock and their children Anna and Alex of Somerville, NJ. Melissa will also be missed by her beloved dogs, Zoey and Cleo. She is predeceased by her grandfathers, Leonard Molin and John F. Willenbrock, Jr.

Her family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Her funeral service will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at the West Hartford United Methodist Church, 1358 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. The Rev. Rick Hanse, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
