Obituary: Olive M. Fletcher, 85; Formerly Of West Hartford
She was a loving mother and a devoted wife. After retiring, Olive and Alan spent many happy vacations on Cape Cod and traveling the country.

Olive Marie (Miller) Fletcher, 85, of Farmington and formerly of West Hartford was called home by her Lord June 17, 2018 after a brief illness. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. She was the wife and best friend of Alan R. Fletcher Sr. and mother of Alan R. Fletcher Jr. and John C. Fletcher. She was born in Ansonia, CT on July 20, 1932 to the late John H. and Minnie (Ireland) Miller. She was the youngest of seven children.
Olive and Alan were married on March 20, 1952 and were joined in 1953 by Alan Jr. and in 1954 by John. She was a loving mother and a devoted wife. She is survived by her husband Alan, son Alan Jr. and his wife Nancy, son John and his wife Cynthia. Also her grandchildren Sean Fletcher and his wife Heather of Temecula CA, Melissa Pirkey and her husband Brian of Ithica, NY and Matthew Fletcher of Meriden, CT. She was blessed with two great grandchildren Emerson Fletcher and Paige Pirkey. She is also survived by a sister, Fern Seccombe and her husband Donald of Ansonia, CT and numerous nephews and nieces. Upon retirement Olive and Alan spent many happy vacations on Cape Cod and traveling the country.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 23, 2018 at 12 noon at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home 136 South Main St., West Hartford. Burial will be private. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to “The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp”, 555 Long Wharf Drive, New Haven, CT 06511 (holeinthewallgang.org).
