Obituary: Salvatore J. 'Sam' Pagano, 88, of West Hartford

He served in the Korean War and was retired from Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where he was an electrician.

Salvatore J. “Sam” Pagano, 88, of West Hartford, beloved husband of the late Selvira P. “Sylvia” Pagano, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Saint Francis Hospital. Born and educated in Hartford, Sam was the son of Michael and Maria Pagano. He served in the Korean War and was retired from Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where he was an electrician.

Sam leaves two daughters, Leslie Pagano and her husband Alex Lomaglio, and Lisa Pagano Condon; and his cherished grand dog Jordan. He was predeceased by his five sisters Millie Cadrin, Rose Kendzior, Ann Carr, Eleanor Papagna, and Theresa Canino, and his brother, Joseph Pagano, and leaves several nieces and nephews. Sam was a loyal New York Yankee fan that was looking forward to the beginning of this season.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. Everyone is asked to proceed directly to church. A private burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford has care of arrangements.
