Over 50 Water Fountains Taken Out of Use at 7 Different West Hartford Schools

The fountains were tested this past summer after the district took part in a voluntary testing.

WEST HARTFORD, CT - About 60 drinking fountains were taken out of use at seven different West Hartford schools, as reported by the Hartford Courant.

The fountains were taken offline after water tests showed a higher amount of lead in the water than the EPA standard, according to the Hartford Courant. All other district water fountains are deemed safe.

The fountains were tested this past summer after the district took part in a voluntary testing, the Hartford Courant. The water fountains were either located inside classrooms, in hallways or in gymnasiums.
