Parents Check Your Kids’ Grades!
With the technology that schools use, there is no reason why we shouldn't know how our kids are doing in school. Just look. It really helps.
Things sure have changed over the years through the use of modern technology, haven’t they? Technology and schools have made it easier for parents to be informed and stay in the loop when it comes to knowing how well their children are doing in school.
I think most of us remember how it used to be when our parents told us to do well in school. We would hope that we were making the grade, but we didn’t always know exactly where we stood. Sometimes we figured no news from our teachers was good news. However, sometimes things didn’t quite go as we were hoping.
Today is different. Students can easily find out how they are doing in an instant and so can their parents through the Internet. This technology improves the quality of conversations going back and forth between the school and the parents. It also improves the conversations going back and forth between parents and children about their schooling.

Parents, no longer have to accept the parent-student exchanges of yesteryear when a parent would ask their kids what they learned today in school and they usually respond with, “Nothing.” And then nothing else happens and the conversation stopped right there with nowhere else to go regardless of how we prodded our kids for more.
An additional benefit to checking grades is that when parents do check on their children it shows their kids that their parents value education. Now, I know that we are all very busy, but regardless of how busy we are, education is still very important. In fact, it is becoming more and more important as we are now competing with the rest of the world in this new global economy for jobs.

Now, as my Granddaddy always said, “Go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us.” Let’s remember to check our kids’ grades because it shows them that we care and it’s really not that difficult to do these days. And once again parents, thanks in advance for all that you do, and all that you do…
