West Hartford PD Investigates Car Vs. Pedestrian Accident

The victim was transported to the hospital.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police are investigating a car vs. pedestrian crash Saturday afternoon in which a person was seriously hurt.

The West Hartford Police Department said the individual struck by the car, however, has non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the incident happened at about 1 p.m. near 20 S. Main St.

Upon arrival, West Hartford police and fire personnel provided emergency medical care to the pedestrian, according to the WHPD.

As a result, all traffic, north and south bound on South Main Street between Farmington Avenue and Memorial Road was detoured.

Police said initial information suggests a single northbound vehicle stuck a pedestrian, who sustained apparent non-life threatening/serious injuries as a result of the collision.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment and the vehicle operator sustained no reported injuries.

The West Hartford Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.

"We greatly appreciate the information already provided by those who witnessed various aspects of this incident," wrote the WHPD.
