Pedestrian Killed In West Hartford After Being Hit: WHPD
The incident happened Saturday evening and prompted road closures.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police are investigating the death of a pedestrian Saturday evening after the individual was struck by a motor vehicle.
Police have not identified the pedestrian, but did say the incident happened at about 5:48 p.m. when the West Hartford Police Department was called to Albany Avenue near Mohegan Drive.
West Hartford police and fire personnel rushed to the scene and provided emergency care to the individual, who was only identified as an "adult pedestrian."

The victim, police said, was transported to an area hospital, but suffered fatal injuries as a result.
Police said the operator of the vehicle involved in the incident remained on scene.

The West Hartford Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating this incident.
As a result of the incident, Albany Avenue between King Philip Drive/Trout Brook Drive and Seneca Road was closed to motor vehicle traffic in both directions.
This fatality comes more than a year after a spate of fatal incidents leading up to the 2022 holiday season claimed five lives and prompted the town to embark on a massive initiative to improve traffic and pedestrian safety in town.
