The 15-year-old was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred on Tuesday morning.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police have identified the bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning as Darren Chen, 15, of West Hartford. Chen was hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash and is currently being treated at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, according to Capt. Jeffrey Rose.
Police responded to the intersection of Hall Street and Federal Street at about 7:50 a.m. on Nov. 7 on the report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle. The investigation has shown that the bicyclist was traveling north on Federal Street and a 2004 Nissan Altima operated by Kendall Fulton, 32, of West Hartford, was heading east on Hall Street, according to Rose. There is a stop sign for Federal Street traffic and Hall Street does not have one.
Fulton remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Rose said the car was inspected and found to be mechanically sound and without any other defect.
