Popular Cupcake Shop Closing In West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The popular cupcake shop NoRA Cupcake Company will close its West Hartford location in Blue Back Square by the end of the year, the owners announced on Facebook. The shop was originally planned to open as a four-month pop-up proposition but turned out to stay in Blue Back Square for a little more than two years.

“We are so grateful for this opportunity, what it has done for our brand, and for what we have learned about expanding a small business,” reads the post on Facebook. “Empowering as it is humbling. Exciting as it is terrifying. This store has been nothing but a success for us because of YOU (talking to all you NoRA fans)!”

The Hartford Courant reports that a potential longer-term tenant was interested in NoRA’s space and they were offered an option to move it to another location within Blue Back Square but NoRA’s ownership ultimately decoded to take the company in another direction.

NoRA Cupcake Company also has its flagship location in Middletown and another shop in Canton.

NoRa Cupcake Company will celebrate its closing in West Hartford with a special event on Saturday, Dec. 30.

“We would love to celebrate this occasion with all of you!,” reads the post on Facebook. “Please be our guest on Saturday, December 30th anytime between 4-7pm, 103 Memorial Road in West Hartford as we close our doors at our inaugural pop-up shop! We will have bubbles, beats, special discounts, and a raffle for a private party with our cupcake truck! Thank you Blue Back Square for this amazing opportunity, all your love & support, and for all the fun you have allowed us to bring to your neighborhood. We will MISS you!!”
