Prominent Restaurant To Close In West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A local restaurant that opened nearly a decade ago is now closing, its owners announced this week.

Union Kitchen & Bar announced it will close its West Hartford Center restaurant after service on Saturday, June 6, ending a nearly decade-long run on LaSalle Road.

The restaurant, located at 43 LaSalle Road, shared the news in a message posted to social media, citing rising real estate costs in West Hartford Center as the primary reason for the closure.

"With rising costs in West Hartford Center's real estate, we have made the hard decision to not renew our lease," the restaurant said.

Union Kitchen has operated in West Hartford for approximately nine years and has become a familiar dining destination in the center's restaurant district.

In its announcement, the restaurant thanked customers, vendors and current and former employees for their support throughout its operation.

"We have had an incredible nine-year run in West Hartford," the restaurant wrote. "We hope to see you for one last meal in our dining room or a drink at our bar as we bid farewell to 43 LaSalle Road."

The business also expressed gratitude to its staff, saying, "None of this would have been possible without you."

Union Kitchen said it will serve customers through Saturday before closing its doors.

As of the announcement, the restaurant had not disclosed plans for a future location or business operations beyond June 6.
