Repairs to Webster Walk's pergola and steps in West Hartford are scheduled for two weeks, with events suspended during the work.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A popular pedestrian and community gathering space in the heart of West Hartford is scheduled for improvements beginning Monday.
Repairs to the pergola at Webster Walk in Blue Back Square are scheduled to take place from Aug. 24 through Sept. 6, weather permitting, according to the town.
The project will include repairs to the steps surrounding the pergola, along with sanding and repairs to the pergola structure.

No events will be held at Webster Walk while the renovations are underway, according to town officials.
Webster Walk is a pedestrian walkway connecting West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square near South Main Street.

The space, which is near the Noah Webster statue, is frequently used for community gatherings, outdoor activities, and other events.
The walkway is named for Noah Webster, the West Hartford native best known for his work as a lexicographer and for creating an influential American dictionary.
