UPDATE: State Police ID Worker Killed in Tipped Truck Accident
A state DOT consultant was performing a bridge inspection when the truck tipped over on I-84 in West Hartford.

Update, 6:30 p.m. The state Department of Transportation says William Shook, 43, of Middlefield, died when his bucket truck tipped over and crushed him while he was performing a routine bridge inspection on Interstate 84 in West Hartford Wednesday afternoon, the Hartford Courant reports.
Shook died at a local hospital. It’s still under investigation as to what caused the truck to roll over.

Update, 4:30 p.m.: The tipped tractor trailer accident in West Hartford has taken a tragic turn as a consultant performing a routine bridge inspection for the state Department of Transportation was killed when his truck tipped over and crushed him on the entrance ramp, according to NBC Connecticut.
NBC reports the victim was using a snooper truck and was standing between the truck and the bridge railing, retracting the truck’s arm, when the truck tipped over and crushed him.

FOX CT reports the state Department of Transportation expects the scene to clear in four hours or less.
Connecticut State Police are advising motorists to seek alternate routes.

Emergency crews are responding to I-84 East in West Hartford where a tractor trailer is dangling over the edge of the highway, according to the Hartford Courant.
The Courant reports the accident happened near Exit 43 and it has forced the closure of part of Trout Brook Drive.
