Residents Speak Out Against Taller Buildings In West Hartford Center
The West Hartford Town Council postponed a vote on a proposed ordinance that would allow buildings of up to five stories in the Center.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — How tall is too tall?
That is the question facing the West Hartford Town Council after some residents voiced concerns that a proposed ordinance that would allow buildings of up to five stories in West Hartford Center could change the character of the area and make it feel more like a city than a town, according to the Hartford Courant.
The Courant reports the council postponed a vote on the amendment that increases the maximum height for buildings with residential units on their upper floors to be increased from three to five stories because the Planning and Zoning Commission was unable to issue an opinion before Tuesday’s meeting.
A public hearing on the ordinance change was continued to April 12, but town officials told the Courant that it is anticipated the hearing will be continued to April 25.
