Russian Interference in the 2016 Election Discussion Dec. 12

Russian interference in the 2016 election will be the focus of a Dec. 12 public forum at Duncaster

Russian interference in the 2016 election will be the focus of the Dec. 12 World Affairs series. The free public forum will be held at Duncaster from 10:30 a.m. to noon. It is open to the public with preregistration.

Teeing up the discussion will be a showing of a FRONTLINE documental called Putin's Revenge. It will help participants understand how Vladimir Putin came to see the United States as an enemy, and how U. S. intelligence believes he targeted the 2016 presidential election. The discussion will focus on Russia’s continuing dedication to cyber-warfare, which most experts believed included their targeting of the 2016 US election. It will also look at how the US has reacted to those charges under the Obama Administration, the continuing questions about it under the Trump Administration and the implications for the future of American democracy.

The discussion is part of Duncaster’s World Affairs Series, which is presented to the community by the residents of Duncaster on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month. Participants include Duncaster residents, as well as local citizens.
