Senior Citizen Medication Safety Topic Of West Hartford Forum
The program will take place in April at the Bishops Corner Senior Center.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — When we get older, the number of pharmaceuticals necessary to maintain our health drastically increases.
And, with that, comes safety issues associated with taking that medicine.
The West Hartford Senior Centers Senior Advisory Commission is hosting a University of Connecticut pharmacist who will be at the Bishops Corner Senior Center, 15 Starkel Road, West Hartford, from 10 to 11 a.m. to discuss medication safety.

Originally slated for this week, the town announced late Tuesday afternoon it will be rescheduled at a yet-to-be-finalized date in April.
UConn School of Pharmacy professor Sean Jeffery will be on hand to discuss the safe storage and consumption of medication for seniors.

In addition, Jeffery will conduct free "medication reviews" from 11 a.m. to noon where he will analyze medication and its containers for eight participants.
