Shooting Probed In Busy West Hartford Area: Police: Reports
A busy stretch of road was closed for a period of time Thursday evening as authorities investigated gunfire reports.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Reports of gunfire in one busy section of West Hartford Thursday evening prompted a road closure as local police investigated.
After about an hour, however, the West Hartford Police Department reopened the roadway.
According to WFSB Channel 3, the shooting was reported near 499 New Park Ave., West Hartford, with no injuries reported.

Evidence of gunfire was found nearby, WVIT Channel 30 reported, with a building damaged in the shooting, which was first reported at about 4 p.m.
The WHPD has yet to release any official information on the situation, only posting traffic alerts via "X" early Thursday evening.

At about 5 p.m., police urged motorists to avoid the area of New Park Avenue between Prospect Avenue and Flatbush Avenue, saying the road was closed "for a police investigation."
An hour later, the WHPD announced the roadway there had reopened to traffic.
