WEST HARTFORD, CT — Summer still has a few weeks to go, but the Town of West Hartford's Department of Leisure Services is already allowing for registration of fall/winter programs.

As is always the case in West Hartford, there are plenty of activities and things to do when the leaves turn and, later, the ground is covered in snow.

Registration for fall/winter programs officially kicked off Wednesday, Aug. 9, at noon.

Tuesday, the department issued a notice of program availability, along with a few tips.

• Reviewing the town's 56-page,fall/winter recreation brochure, which is available online.

• Logging in to RecDesk, which is the electronic means to register for all sorts of rec programs.

• And, once on RecDesk, search for the leisure services emergency form under "Programs" and enroll. Town officials said this allows users to complete any necessary health forms for programs lasting more than three hours.
