Stand Up for Change: How Comedy is Helping Fight Human Trafficking
Join us for a night of comedy that raises awareness and funds to help end human trafficking and support survivors in our community

Human trafficking remains one of the darkest challenges facing communities in Connecticut and across New England. But organizations like The Underground New England are fighting to bring light to this issue, providing support to survivors and raising awareness to prevent future harm. And now, we're inviting the community to join us in our mission – in a fun, engaging way – through our upcoming Comedy Show Fundraiser, as part of our End the Wait campaign.
Who We Are
At The Underground New England, our mission is simple yet profound: to eradicate human trafficking. We do this by providing education and awareness to help protect vulnerable individuals, supporting survivors as they rebuild their lives, and working closely with law enforcement, community groups, and faith-based organizations. Our outreach programs cover everything from prevention workshops to survivor advocacy, helping to keep our communities informed and safer. Every step we take is towards a world where no one falls victim to exploitation.
Despite our efforts, we currently have 15 individuals on a waiting list for vital services – and they’ve been waiting far too long. That’s where you come in. By supporting our End the Wait campaign, either through attending or sponsoring our upcoming comedy event, you can help make a direct impact in shortening that wait and changing lives.
The Comedy Show: Laughter for a Cause
On November 2nd, we’re bringing the community together for an evening of joy, laughter, and support at our Comedy Show Fundraiser. Featuring talented comedians who are partnering with The Underground New England to shine a spotlight on our cause, this event is more than just a night of entertainment – it’s an opportunity to get involved in something meaningful.
Why comedy?
Comedy has the unique ability to bring people together, breaking down barriers and creating shared moments of joy. It’s the perfect way to rally support for a serious cause in a way that leaves everyone smiling. All proceeds from the night will go directly toward supporting the 15 individuals currently on our waitlist, helping them access the resources and care they desperately need.
