Teen Accused of Breaking into West Hartford Home, Hosting New Year's Eve Alcohol Party for Minors

West Hartford police have arrested a Pennsylvania teen who allegedly broke into a home while the owners were away on vacation and hosted a New Year’s Eve party where minors were served alcohol at the house.

Daniel Carl Hein, 19, of 6 Strean Lane in Levittown, Pa., was extradited from Pennsylvania on a valid arrest warrant on Oct. 8, according to police.

Police said that the arrest stems from a burglary that occurred at a West Hartford home on or about Dec. 31, 2012.

Items were stolen from the home and damage was done, according to police.

Hein was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, and conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief.

He is being held on a $5,500 cash only bond.
