Teen Dies In Swimming Mishap At Lake In West Hartford/Farmington
A teen died Wednesday while swimming at a lake that straddles Farmington and West Hartford, police said.

FARMINGTON/WEST HARTFORD CT — A 19-year-old died Wednesday in a swimming accident at a local lake, police said.
At 5:35 p.m., the Farmington Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a 19-year-old female had slipped and had been under the water for several minutes while swimming at Woodridge Lake, according to an incident report.
The lake straddles both Farmington and West Hartford.

Emergency responders from both towns responded and members of the West Hartford Fire Department located 19-year-old Bloomfield resident Jodieann Murray, under the water, where she was last reported swimming by a friend. Murray was transported by ambulance to UConn Health John Dempsey Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to an incident report.
Police said it appeared the two teenagers were trying to swim to a floating dock across from the Woodridge Association beach.
