Teens Caught Burglarizing Vehicles Overnight In West Hartford: Police

Police say the juvenile suspects were on probation for larceny charges and were wearing GPS monitoring ankle bracelets when they were caught

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Two juveniles were caught burglarizing vehicles during the overnight hours on Sunday, according to police. At about 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 24, two juveniles were stopped by West Hartford Police Officer Nicholas Sanford on Clifford Drive, according to Lt. Eric Rocheleau.

Rocheleau said investigation revealed that the two had just burglarized an unlocked vehicle there. A second burglary was found a short time later. Both juvenile suspects were on juvenile probation for larceny charges and were wearing GPS monitoring ankle bracelets, according to Rocheleau.

One of the juveniles had been previously arrested by the West Hartford Police Department for previous vehicle burglary-related charges, according to Rocheleau.

Each was arrested and charged with burglary, larceny and conspiracy charges and released to their guardians.
