Theater Kids Have A Place This Winter In Simsbury, West Hartford

SIMSBURY/WEST HARTFORD, CT — Winter needn't be a boring time for artistic children looking for enriching activities that cultivate their desires to perform.

The Playhouse Theatre Academy has winter classes for children in both Simsbury and West Hartford that will do just that and it is currently seeking registrants.

The classes are offered in Simsmore Square, 540 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, and Congregation Beth Isreal, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford.

The Playhouse Theatre Academy is operated by Playhouse Theatre Group, Inc., which is affiliated with West Hartford's Playhouse on Park theater organization.

"In an era where the arts are often sidelined in educational curricula, we are dedicated to offering vital resources and vibrant in-school programming to ensure all students have access to artistic opportunities," wrote the academy in an announcement.

"We aim to create a welcoming home for high-quality theatre instruction that champions brave, inclusive spaces, actively working to decolonize our curriculum and enrich programming for everyone."

The academy offers classes for a diverse age group, with classes geared for, even, 1- to 3-year-olds; 4- to 7-year-olds; and 8- to 12-year-olds.
