Threat Prompts Police Response At Westfarms Mall

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Police Department responded Tuesday evening to an anonymous threat targeting an employee at Westfarms Mall, authorities said.

Police said the department’s emergency reporting center received a telephone call at approximately 5:07 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, in which the caller claimed they were going to the mall to target an alleged employee.

Officers were dispatched to the shopping center to investigate.

“No victims or evidence of a disturbance were located,” police said in a statement released by Capt. Aaron Vafiades, the department’s public information officer.

The incident remains under investigation, and no arrests have been reported.
