Three Area Teams Advance in Girls Basketball Tournaments

Northwest Catholic moves into the Class L quarterfinal round thanks to a victory over East Lyme.

Five teams from the north-central Connecticut area played second-round games in the CIAC girls basketball tournaments Friday, with three emerging victorious.

Northwest Catholic advanced to the Class L quarterfinals with an easy 62-32 win over East Lyme, while Windsor Locks and Canton both won their second-round matchups in Class S.

Farmington went down to defeat in Class L, as did East Windsor in Class S.
