Trinity College Presents Sondheim Musical "Company," October 27-29
Free Musical Theater Performances

The Trinity College Department of Music will present “Company,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by George Furth, at Austin Arts Center’s Garmany Hall, Thursday through Saturday, October 27-29.
Stage direction and musical direction are by Gerald Moshell, a professor of Music at Trinity, and choreography is by Lydia Haynes ’18.
According to Moshell, he has now produced “Company” six times, more than any other show, in his 40 years at Trinity. Why? First, “Company” combines first-rate music, lyrics, and script, a trifecta few musicals accomplish. Second, Moshell says that “Company” sets an early standard for the ‘concept musical’ in which “situation largely substitutes for plot and the equality of casting substantially erases the old leads-chorus dichotomy. Without ‘Company,’ there would have been no ‘A Chorus Line,’ or ‘Nine,’ or ‘Spring Awakening,’ among many, many others,” Moshell concluded.
