2 Carjacking Suspects Nabbed By West Hartford Police: WHPD

A Tolland woman and Hartford man were charged in connection with a carjacking at gunpoint in Hartford Friday afternoon.

WEST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man and Tolland woman are in custody after West Hartford police apprehended the two in connection with a carjacking incident in Hartford.

According to the West Hartford Police Department, the suspects are identified as Irving Adams, 45, of Hartford, and Gabrielle Goulet, 24, of Tolland.

Police said they were the two suspects nabbed Friday afternoon after a vehicle was stolen at gunpoint in Hartford.

Adams, the WHPD said, has been charged with: theft of a motor vehicle; second-degree larceny; interfering with police; first-degree reckless endangerment; reckless driving; operating with a suspended license and registration; engaging police in pursuit; and failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Police said Adams is currently being held on a $250,000 bond for the incident.

They said Adams also had seven outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear in court stemming from robbery, burglary and violation of probation cases from various towns.

Goulet, according to the WHPD, has been charged with: interfering with police; conspiracy to commit motor vehicle theft; two counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny; possession of drug paraphernalia; and two counts of illegal possession of narcotics.

Police said Goulet is currently being held on a $50,000 bond for this incident.

Goulet also had three outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear in court stemming from burglary and larceny cases, police said.

The WHPD said a local officer saw a vehicle at about 2:30 p.m. Friday at Trout Brook Drive and Park Road in West Hartford that was reported stolen at gunpoint from a Hartford victim.

The WHPD said officers deployed a tire deflation device to disable the vehicle’s tires.

WHPD officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the operator was still able to engage officers in pursuit, police said.

The WHPD said the vehicle traveled into Hartford and stopped at Arlington and Stone street, where the two suspects fled on foot.

The suspects were "quickly apprehended by West Hartford officers," according to the WHPD.

Police said there were no injuries or damage reported from the incident.
