With transmission rates in double digits and cases still being counted, the impact of the pandemic medically is falling far short of the pandemic's darkest days in 2020 and 2021.

Experts say a major reason for this is the presence of easily accessible, free vaccines.

Those vaccines are available at your doctor, but also at the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District office in Bloomfield, which is offering walk-in clinics over the summer.

There, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines and boosters are available for anyone 12 and over. People just need to bring in identification, an insurance car and their COVID vaccine car. There also isn't a fee.
