Two Men Charged In Major West Hartford Drug Bust: Police
Among the drugs being sold, according to police, were crystal meth, GHB and psychadelic mushrooms — all within 200 feet of a local school.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police Tuesday announced the arrest of two men with the same age and first name in connection with a major drug-trafficking operation in West Hartford.
In addition to charging both men with multiple crystal meth and hallucinogenic mushroom charges, West Hartford police also seized several items of contraband associated with the charges, including drugs and cash.
According to a release from the West Hartford Police Department, West Hartford resident Jason R. Blinn, 40, was charged with: possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell; two counts of possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell; operation of a drug factory; illegal sale of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school; conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to sell; conspiracy of possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell; conspiracy to operate a drug factory; and conspiracy to commit an illegal sale of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school.

For his charges, Blinn was being held on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court May 16.
Meanwhile, West Hartford resident Jason L. Comeau was charged with: possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell; two counts of possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell; operation of a drug factory; illegal sale of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school; conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to sell; conspiracy to possess a hallucinogen with intent to sell; conspiracy to operate a drug factory; and conspiracy to commit an illegal sale of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school.

Police said Comeau was released on $10,000 bond and will appear in Hartford Superior Court May 11.
According to the WHPD, the department's Community Support Unit started investigating the sale of crystal methamphetamine and gamma-hydroxybutyrate ("GHB") from an apartment building at 773 Farmington Ave., West Hartford.
Police said that location is only about 200 feet from Whiting Lane Elementary School in town.
Officers obtained a search warrant and executed that warrant last Thursday, April 27, at about 9:30 a.m.
During the raid, police said they seized: $1,552 in cash; 16.6 pounds of GHB; 32.8 grams of crystal meth; 8.2 grams of psylocybin (psychedelic mushrooms); and assorted drug factory equipment.
