Unique Career Fair In West Hartford Showcases Manufacturing

West Hartford is hosting a career fair for teens on Wednesday, April 17, emphasizing the trades and manufacturing.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local students are invited to an opportunity this week to get a sneak peek at their futures.

On Wednesday, April 17, the town is hosting the "Futures in Manufacturing Career Fair" in the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium, 50 S. Main St.

It will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is a partnership between the West Hartford Economic Development office and West Hartford Public Schools.

The goal is to introduce high school students to careers in the trades and manufacturing.

Visitors will have opportunities for an on-site job shadow, apprenticeships, or a job this summer.

This could be a gateway to acquiring hands-on experience with innovation stations, cobots, simulations, tools and operations, and virtual reality.

Parents are encouraged to have their students sign up through their high school Career Center advisor or Guidance Counselor.

Permission slips are required. Transportation is provided and the event is free to attend.
