Upscale Mexican Restaurant Rosa Mexicano Coming To Connecticut

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Upscale Mexican restaurant Rosa Mexicano has announced the opening of its first Connecticut location — in West Hartford's Blue Back Square area.

The opening has been targeted for the spring of 2022, restaurant officials said.

The restaurant's motto is to honor "Mexican heritage, culinary techniques, and global inspirations."

The West Hartford location will join Rosa Mexicano restaurants in New York City, Boston, New Jersey and Maryland. It will be located at 51 Isham Road in West Hartford, opposite the Cheesecake Factory.

Rosa Mexicano aims to "transport guests on fun and unique culinary journeys, full of vibrant, authentic flavors and visually arresting ingredients, surrounded by dramatic, stylish, and architecturally- driven interiors that are unequivocally festive and electric. Prominently displayed throughout their restaurants are the Otomi Gods, powerful symbols of fertility that the people of Puebla worshipped in order to coax a bountiful harvest."

Officials said the location was a good fit.
