USJ Honors West Hartford First Responders With Brunch
The West Hartford-based university hosted the event for 'National Random Acts of Kindness Week' last week.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A local university in West Hartford recently honored the town's first responders who are entrusted with saving lives and property as well as fighting crime.
Students, staff, and faculty of the University of Saint Joseph celebrated "National Random Acts of Kindness Week" last week by hosting an appreciation brunch for nearly 50 first responders from West Hartford.

Responders from the West Hartford Police Department, West Hartford Fire Department, American Medical Response (AMR) Emergency Medical Services, and local nurses were welcomed to USJ for a specially prepared brunch buffet served by USJ students.
"The brunch allowed these hometown heroes to enjoy a meal with the USJ community members and their fellow First Responders," wrote USJ.

Responders also received special handmade "thank you" cards prepared by students at the Gengras Center, a private special education school founded on the campus of USJ, which provides learning and education for elementary, middle, high school, and transition-aged students.
