WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local folks interested in installing a more environmentally friendly solar power system on their homes are invited to a town-hosted virtual event on Wednesday, May 1.
The Sustainable West Hartford Commission and the West Hartford Public Library is hosting a virtual information session on the topic at 6 p.m. that night.

There, guests can learn about PowerSmart, which is a community-based, clean energy campaign that encourages West Hartford residents to transition to renewable energy via solar and state-of-the-art home battery systems.

Special financial incentives are available from the CT Green Bank and Eversource and a 30 percent income tax credit from the federal government.
