Volunteers Needed To Collect Cemetery Flags in West Hartford This Weekend
The flags were placed at veterans' graves earlier this month as part of Memorial Day commemorations.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — American Legion Post 96 is seeking volunteers to help collect American flags and flag holders from veterans’ graves at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, May 30.
The effort will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to take about one hour, according to the post.
Organizers said the collection will proceed rain or shine.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the chapel garage bay at the cemetery, located at 200 Whitman Ave. No advance registration is required.

After collection, the flags will be stored for reuse during Veterans Day observances later this year.
American Legion Post 96 said anyone interested in assisting can simply arrive at the designated meeting location before the start time.
