WeHa Libraries Seek Diapers For Statewide Drive

All three West Hartford libraries are collecting diapers for a statewide campaign to supply them to needy Connecticut families.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A massive, statewide diaper drive will include three West Hartford drop-off sites starting next week.

The West Hartford Public Library's three local sites are participating in the "Healthy Babies Diaper Drive," which is being publicized as the "largest diaper drive in CT history."

Library officials are working with the Diaper Bank of Connecticut, a North Haven-based agency, to collect diapers that will be distributed statewide to families in need.

The drive runs from Monday, Sept. 18, to Saturday, Oct. 14.

New, unopened packages of diapers, which can easily bust the budget of families in need, can be dropped off during regular business hours at West Hartford's libraries, which are:

• Noah Webster Library, 20 S. Main St.

• Bishop's Corner Library, 15 Starkel Road

• Faxon Library, 1073 New Britain Ave.

The goal is for the collection drive to collect 500,000 diapers for children of all ages.

In addition, the diaper bank is always looking for monetary donations in case diapers themselves are unavailable.
