UPDATE: Suspects ID'd, Details Released In WeHa Gas Station Shooting

The Shell gas station in West Hartford was closed for much of the morning following the brouhaha.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police Wednesday afternoon named the suspects and released further details about a shooting incident at a West Hartford gas station/convenience store earlier that morning.

According to the West Hartford Police Department, two were charged in connection with the incident, which happened at 5:36 a.m. Wednesday at the Shell Gas Station, 338 Park Road.

Police said Jamie Rocha-Olivares, 34, of no certain address, was charged with second-degree breach of peace; interfering with a police officer; second-degree reckless endangerment; first-degree threatening; first-degree criminal trespassing; carrying a pistol without a permit; unlawful discharge of a firearm; and criminal attempt of first-degree assault.

He is being held on $750,000 bond and will appear in court on Thursday, Jan. 25, in Hartford Superior Court.

Also, police said, Nicole Beagle, 40, of no certain address, was charged with second-degree breach of peace; interfering with a police officer; and second-degree violation of conditions of release.

She was being held on a $25,000 bond and will appear in Hartford Superior Court on Thursday, Jan. 25, police said.

According to the WHPD, officers were called to the gas station at about 5:36 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

Police said the couple got into a verbal argument with a store employee over "an attempted purchase of some items."

During the dispute, police said the employee held a baseball bat and the male suspect pulled a handgun on the worker.

That's when the gun was fired, but no one was hit by the bullet, police said.

Arriving officers took the couple into custody after a struggle, police said, with officers requiring the use of a Taser to subdue the male suspect along with physical restraints.
