Absentee Ballots In West Hartford: What You Need To Know
Starting Oct. 6, absentee ballots will be available for those voting in the 2023 municipal elections.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Town officials are reminding residents to seek out and obtain absentee ballots for the Nov. 7 municipal elections if they're unable to cast ballots in person at the polls.
Connecticut law allows voters to receive an absentee ballot if they cannot appear at an assigned polling place on Election Day because of active service in the military, absence from the town, sickness or physical disability, religious tenets forbid secular activity on the day of the election or duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own during all of the hours of voting.

Absentee ballots will be available for distribution starting Friday, Oct. 6.
In order to obtain a ballot, voters must submit an application and may request a ballot using one of the following methods:

1. Apply for an absentee ballot online at the following link: https://oabr-sots.ct.gov/OABR/absenteeBallotReqPortalHome.do.
2. Request an absentee ballot in person by visiting the West Hartford Town Clerk’s Office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 50 S. Main St., Room 313.
3. Mail or deliver a completed application to the West Hartford Town Clerk’s Office. A printable application can be downloaded here: https://portal.ct.gov/SOTS/Election-Services/Voter-Information/Absentee-Voting.
Each Application requesting an absentee ballot requires the original signature of the registered voter.
Election drop boxes are located outside the main entrance to West Hartford Town Hall and the Faxon Branch Library.
To expedite delivery, use the Election Drop Boxes for applications and returned ballots.
If mailing by the U.S. Postal Service, allow enough time for the ballot to arrive by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
